I joke with Matt
that my best friend
works for an oil company,
drives a Range Rover,
doesn't recycle,
voted for Trump,
and is a self-deprecating asshole.
Matt asked me why we're close.
I paused.
At the end of the day,
it comes down to three words:
grit, authenticity, and humor.
