Gravity

I am weightless without you
spinning here in an empty airless orbit,
in a cold cloudless shadow
making shapes.
If you are not here
I am a body suspended
blinking and breathing
into indifferent space.
You are my gravity and when you are here
my feet feel the floor
and I remember sound.
You exist in bright color and dimension
and you have a taste.
Don't go away and leave me
to float through that hollow chasm alone.
But if you do
I promise you I'll find another star
that's brighter
and piping hot.
